Lifeguard Summer Job with San Antonio Parks & Recreation

Applicants must be at least 16 and must pass a prerequisite skills test. The Parks and Rec Departments provides CPR and lifesaving training to prepare you for lifeguarding responsibilities. Applicants who have passed the prerequisite test will be scheduled for training classes. The starting salary is $10.00 per hour.

1) Beginning June 1st, ask for a Teen Summer Program sign-up card at your local library. Fill out the card and turn it in to get yourself registered;

2) Track every book you read and/or every library event you attend so that you are entered to win an awesome prize (each book or activity earns you 1 entry into the drawing, so you can turn in as many prize drawing cards as you like);

3) Attend the End of Summer Party at the Central Library on Saturday, August 5th from 1-4pm! You can look forward to hours of open-play friendly gaming, free pizza and some other awesome stuff. It’s all FREE, and it’s JUST FOR TEENS!

Glenda Woods Girls University is a full-day summer camp for girls ages 6-12. Each week has a different theme and brings new adventures as girls learn about different college majors, take part in unique experiences, meet community leaders, explore the outdoors, and grow their passion for reading, science, sports, art, and math.

CPAs are partnered with staff over the summer to implement exciting activities offered each week during Glenda Woods Girls University Summer Camp (GWGU) 2017. The leadership experience teaches girls ages 13-18 responsibility, team work, and public speaking skills as they facilitate programs to younger girls and coordinate service projects with a sisterhood of strong, smart, and bold girls!

The City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department offers a quality, affordable Summer Youth Program, where youth find sports, craft projects, active games, art exploration, fitness and nutrition, reading opportunities, and math and science enrichment activities. Something for every child’s special interest!

Community center sites open to ages 6 to 14.
School sites open to ages 6 to 12.

Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Lunch and an afternoon snack are included.

Fees are based on a sliding scale, according to income and family size.
